Current and past clients grow in their personal recovery through fellowship and support in our Alumni Program.

Our Alumni Program allows for people new in recovery and those who are further along to continue strengthening their lives by engaging with other recovering addicts and alcoholics. Staying connected with others who are clean and sober is the lifeline of recovery. Strong recovery is had when a person establishes or begins to seek support from others who understand them. These meaningful relationships become instances of realizing greater self-worth and purpose, gratitude and actualizing one’s ability to help another person in recovery. This is how recovery becomes and remains a priority. Clean and sober people thrive when loved, understood and motivated to give back because of friendships and support.

At Recreate Life Counseling, our unique Alumni Program helps to form solid relationships in recovery. Our program intends to help past and present clients deepen their connection with others who are similar. Recovery is a process. In the first year, a person begins to develop an understanding of who they really are. Later on, recovering alcoholics and addicts grow in their ability to see what their character defects are, and how to work on them to acquire peace of mind.

Our alumni program lets each client understand that they are a valuable resource for inspiring others who are newer and/or older in recovery. The personal growth that occurs through our alumni program reinforces long-term recovery. It also helps recovering addicts further their ability to be openminded, to love themselves and others, earn and receive trust, make their daily journey in recovery less stressful and more satisfying.

Build lasting fellowship through our Alumni Program

Our program consists of fellowship, fun events, personal celebrations, and a clean and sober environment to safely enjoy the holidays. Twice a month, we hold an alumni twelve-step meeting led by a speaker. These fellowship meetings quickly become part of many of our client’s routines. They allow the program alumni to meet current clients to help build their sober support networks. The alumni twelve-step meetings are a perfect way to re-learn how to make friends clean and sober and to feel welcomed and supported.

The events that we offer throughout the year are opportunities to have fun. We get together to play basketball, softball, trips to the beach, go bowling, see a movie, and we meet together to support other recovery-focused events. We also attend various 12-step meetings in the area together so each client or alumni can become familiar with all of the local meetings. Our events are open to clients, alumni, and family members, and we also welcome others in recovery, so bring your friends.

If you or a loved one are interested in learning more about the Recreate Life Counseling Alumni Program, please don’t hesitate to contact us around the clock. We are always available to answer any questions, comments, or concerns you may have.

What Else Happens at Our Alumni Program?

Celebrating milestones in recovery is an important way that a person can honor themselves and be acknowledged for how monumental it is to be in recovery. We hold birthday meetings to recognize sobriety achievements with monthly and yearly coin outs. Our birthday celebrations are vital for our new clients and our alumni members. For our new clients, these parties can be pivotal as they see that it is possible to be happy and a part of life while reaming clean and sober. For alumni, they get to recognize how much they have grown. The birthday celebrations include cake, balloons and everything that a birthday needs to be joyful.
